Road Trip Essentials

Last week we packed our car and headed south! My big kids were meeting their dad in Disneyland, so Scott and I decided to take the little kids to Disneyland.

It is a bout a 10 hour drive from our house to Anaheim, CA… I know. It sounds like torture. Especially because Oliver is not the best car traveller. However, this drive went extremely well! We drove to my sister-in-laws home about 3.5 hours from us and spent the night and then drove the rest of the way to CA the next morning. On the way back we drove to half an hour west of Las Vegas to spend the night and then home the next morning.

I used one of my big kids old iPhones to load up with movies from Netflix, and I did the same on the iPad. That way both Claire and Oliver had shows to watch. I knew Oliver would nap (or prayed he would nap) and that would pass time too. We had a little basket of toys for him as well. I went to my favorite store ever Target and got twistable crayons, stickers, drawing pads and coloring books for Claire as well. Most I found in the dollar spot. Stickers and paper keep her entertained for hours.

For snacks we had the essentials:

  1. Goldfish

  2. Chips

  3. Fruit Snacks

  4. Oreos

  5. Wheat Thins

  6. Cheez-Its

  7. Fudge Stripe Cookies

Scott and I also tried to listen to an audiobook, but it was hard to get in to. I am so grateful for the time we have on long drives to talk about a lot of things. Scott is really my most favorite person in the whole world.
