The book club that I am a part of is so much fun. I love having an evening with friends and talking books and having a light snack along with it. We discussed “The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie“(ad link). I will admit, I didn’t read the entire book. In fact, I stopped reading it around page 120. I was bored. The language was not appealing to me. The main character is an 11 year old girl that did not act her age or gender. Then I was reminded that she is written by an adult man. However, there were some fun things in the book. I did appreciate that the main character had a lot of spunk and loved chemistry.
We are now reading “One Hundred Birds Taught Me to Fly “(ad link) and I am very excited for it. It is a collection of short stories and poems. It should be really fun to discuss with the ladies.
